Simply put: Uyuni is a magical, special place that I can’t recommend more to people that want to experience something unlike any place on Earth. When I first heard about it, I put it “on my list” and luckily was able to work it into my travel plan for South America. Ima didn’t mention it in the podcast, but I’m glad I checked it out.
All of the photos in this gallery are NOT photoshopped. When there’s rain, the Salt Flats have 3-5 inches of water on them. On days without wind, the water is perfectly still and creates this mirror effect with the sky. We spent 2 days on the Flats and had a picnic lunch “on the mirror” both days.
There are a few salt statues and other stuff to see besides the mirror. I’ll put some of the fun stuff in another gallery.
Special shout out to Kevin and his father from the agency in Uyuni that took care of us (I’ll find a link). Two nights at Palacio del Sal probably could have been 3 with so much to see and taking some down time in Uyuni. Enjoy the photos.

Both of the links are returning error messages.
Thanks for the heads up! I split my South America photos into a new sub-section of “world travel” and it broke ALL of the links! They’re all working now after a very manual relinking process…. You can always go to kbevphoto.com to see the latest though.
