The plan for the project is best described in the Intro Episode of the “My Home is Special” podcast.  However, let’s talk about the travel plan as it stands in November 2023.

First up: South America (5 weeks)

We’ll start in Peru 🇵🇪 with some time in Lima, then go to the Cusco/ Machu Picchu area for some bucket list exploring.  After that, we head over to Bolivia 🇧🇴 for La Paz, Lake Titicaca, and the Uyuni Salt Flats.   Over land, we’ll drive to the Atacama Desert in Chile 🇨🇱 for a few days before resting in Santiago for a bit.  From there, we’ll hit the Chilean side of Patagonia.  We’ll end the trip with almost 2 weeks in Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 and Montevideo, Uruguay 🇺🇾.

Next: Korea and SE Asia (6 weeks)

I haven’t booked it yet, but the plan is to start with a 4-5 day stop in South Korea 🇰🇷 as we get settled in the time zone.  From there, we’ll spend a lot of time in Vietnam 🇻🇳 and Thailand 🇹🇭.  There’s a 3 day Hip-hop event in Da Nang, Vietnam that we’ll be at.  (I’ve been to this event in Singapore a few times and it’s worth planning around).  Although we’ll be there for a bit less time, we’ll also spend time in Laos 🇱🇦 and Cambodia 🇰🇭.

Afterwards: West Africa+ (~4 weeks)

This is where the plan gets a little soft.  I’ve got to get to Ghana 🇬🇭 for my first visit and will probably spend 7-10 days there.  I’ve got so many Nigerian friends that it’s a shame to go to the region and not visit.  So, we’ll spend a few days in Lagos, Nigeria 🇳🇬 too.  I’m not sure, but Cote D’ivoire 🇨🇮, another part of Morocco🇲🇦, or Portugal 🇵🇹 (it’s on the way) are likely to be added.

Then: Mediterranean-ish (~4 weeks)

We’re planning to end with more bucket list stops.  That includes a good amount of time in Egypt 🇪🇬.  It also means time in Greece 🇬🇷.  There are some other places “in the vicinity” or “on the way” that we want to visit, so we’ll probably add 1-2 more on this 4 week trip.  Who knows…
