When I first started doing travel photography, I’d take my zoom lens and “snipe” people from a distance. It’s always fun to try capturing the mood of the day by catching people acting 100% natural. We did a ton of walking in Peru and I had my camera every time.
This “throwback” to my roots as a street photographer was certainly a memorable way to start the trip. We spent most of our Lima time in the Miraflores and Barranco neighborhoods (and some time in Central Lima). Both felt totally cool day and night. I also know that not all parts of Lima are as safe – but hey, I’m from CHI-town! In Cusco and Machu Picchu District I snapped a few more. This is a collection of some of my favorites.
