When Caro told me about how special Torres del Paine was, she didn’t have to spend much time convincing me because it was already on “my list”. I’m not sure exactly what I expected, but staying at Explora certainly raised whatever expectations I had.
Patagonia is truly a special place and we spent 4 days in Torres del Paine. Each day, we saw very different parts of the park. The glaciers, the mountains, multiple rainbows, wildlife, and great people made this a really memorable part of the trip.
Honestly, it reminded me of my visit to Alaska. The sky is just so “big” here. As you walk around and take in the views, you just have a hard time believing that you’re still on the same Earth where so many bad things happen. It is absolutely amazing. I’m glad we took the time (and investment) to do it during the trip.
I keep saying I’m not a landscape photographer. However, a little HDR merging and patience gave me some photos I may have to print.
They say the pygmy owl is really rare to see. Yeah. I got it. 😎
